Quang Binh Cave Festival 2017, kicking off on June 17 and running until June 25, features various art, sport, and tourism activities, such as Quang Binh cave discovery, parades and an EDM Beach Party.

Other interesting activities involve inauguration of tourism routes, destinations, accommodation establishments and new services from June 1 to June 30; surveys on tourist attractions to develop products through Cat Bi – Dong Hoi air route from June 17 to June 20; marching, sailboat and kayak racing and sporting activities and underwater tourism at Nhat Le Beach from June 11 to June 22; Quang Binh – Hai Phong tourism and cultural exchange programmes from June 15 to June 20; and a “journey back to the old battlefield” programme on June 18.
Visitors have to walk a lot, even trekking along the trails in the primative forests, crossing rivers and streams.
The festival is held every two years with the purpose for introducing and promoting Quang Binh and its outstanding natural resources, with more than 300 alluring, unique and grand caves, which have unique geology and rich biodiversity, along with making Quang Binh’s tourism a spearhead industry of the locality.
Upstream of the Son river by boat, visitors will indulge natural scenery along the river banks and experience the rural life.

According to the Quang Binh provincial People’s Committee, from June 1, the Hanoi – Dong Hoi air route operated by Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, and Vasco were launched to meet the increasing travel demands of tourists.

In the first five months of 2017, Quang Binh received and provided services to more than 81,000 tourists, up 111 per cent, compared with the same period last year. Dong Hoi City, Vung Chua – Yen Island, Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park, Chay River – Dark Cave, and Heaven Cavern are the main tourist attractions.

Quang Binh has been considered as a new tourism destination attracting both local and international tourists with its charming mystery, grandeur, unspoiled beauty, and unique tourism products. Quang Binh is truly “the kingdom of caves” and a paradise for visitors. Besides caves, Quang Binh is also famous for its spectacular mountainous sceneries and sprawling beaches. Its Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park was recognised as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2003 thanks to its impressive scenery and archaeological value.
