Mingling with the vibrant melodies in the “backpacker’s area,” enjoying the culinary paradise, listening to Hue songs (ca Hue) on the river... are must-enjoy experiences when you have the occasion to visit Hue.

1. Eat the ‘night’ banh mi in Hue, discover the city's cuisine

At night, Hue cuisine is even more diverse and appealing than during the daytime, especially at the foot of Truong Tien Bridge and along the banks of the Huong River.

One of the popular places to dine and drink is the bread stall next to the city’s post office. Here, each ‘banh mi’ includes a variety of unusual toppings such as bot loc, xa xiu, or fermented pork roll. Previously, this kind of food was known as "bridge bread" since it was only sold under the famous Truong Tien Bridge to about 2 to 3 am and gradually became a specialty food.

In addition, if you are a fan of the famous Hue beef noodle soup, just walk along Ha Noi Street and you will see numerous stalls selling this specialty late into the night.

Once your appetite is satisfied, visiting a sweet gruels stall would be an excellent choice to gather and have a chit-chat with friends there. Some locations open until late at night are Mo Ton Dich, and Ngoc Hien.

Suggested noodle shops to visit: My Tam beef noodle, banh canh Han Thuyen, banh mi O Tho, and Ba Hoa beef noodle.

2. Promenade on Truong Tien Bridge

When night falls, the Truong Tien Bridge becomes more splendid than ever, illumined by a system of colorful LED lights. If you want to fully feel the city’s nightlife, walking is the best way to experience it.
Located at the foot of the bridge is Nguyen Dinh Chieu pedestrian street, an ideal destination for tourists to shop for lovely souvenirs and enjoy Hue specialties. You will have a chance to immerse yourself among the bustling shoppers visiting a variety of shops, participating in street art performances, such as flashmob dancing and other exchanges performances. The street attracts a lot of tourists from all over the world, creating a lively and energetic atmosphere in the heart of the city.

When the city lights up, the street becomes even busier, dispelling any melancholic emotions as people wander about  on the Ancient Capital.
